Under the direction of the Assistant Library Director for Outreach & Public Services, the incumbent will participate in the ongoing development and refinement of the library’s communications, including the web site, mobile site, social networking profiles, print publications, and digital signage. This position works with library leadership in marketing and promoting library resources, services, events, and programs, which may include but would not be limited to creating advertising, signage, print publications, and electronic content and announcements; utilizing appropriate media channels, assisting with coordination or library events and programs, and developing and coordinating the library’s social media presence.

Primary duties

Develops messaging and designs print and electronic marketing content to promote library resources, services, programs, and events.
Presents a consistent visual identity for the Library and ensures branding compliance within the context of the Mount Sinai Health System at large.
Interprets marketing guidelines and coordinates promotion of library services and resources as directed by library leadership in support of the marketing plan for audience-specific platforms and opportunities.
Oversees the library’s social media presence and analyzes emerging trends in social media.
May work on special library projects and events in support of Library services.
Participates on Library working groups/committees.

The Brown University Library seeks an innovative and user-oriented informational professional to join the Research and Outreach Services Department as the Biomedical and Life Sciences Librarian.

Reporting to the Head of Health & Science Information Services, the Biomedical & Life Sciences librarian supports the information needs of the Program in Biology (Division of Biology and Medicine) and for the Department of Cognitive, Linguistic and Psychological Sciences (CLPS). This position serves as the primary liaison between the Library and these departments, and plays a central role in developing library services and collections to support current and future research and instructional initiatives of these departments

The Biomedical and Life Sciences Librarian supports the instructional and research needs of faculty, postdocs, graduate students, and undergraduate concentrators. The librarian will also build upon established partnerships with campus units such as the Office of Sponsored Projects, the BioMed Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) to expand the library’s role in such areas as research reproducibility, support for/compliance with funder mandates, and other research management needs, and will partner with other health & science librarians at Brown to support the university’s initiatives in Biomedical Informatics and in Translational Science.

To fulfill these responsibilities successfully, the Biomedical and Life Sciences Librarian will have a strong academic background in biology, psychology, or other life sciences field, and have significant hands-on experience with relevant technologies and bibliographic tools. The successful candidate should have a demonstrated knowledge of the work of laboratory scientists and the scientific processes they apply, and will maintain a strong awareness of issues related to scholarly communications including copyright, open access, repositories, and licensing of online resources. With summer in full swing, many of us recently completed year end evaluations and are planning projects for this year. If your agenda this year includes a research or assessment project, MAC/RAC may be able to help you get your project off the ground with its Research and Assessment Grant.

The purpose of the Research & Assessment Grant is to promote and stimulate excellence in the field of health science librarianship and the information sciences. The grant may be used to support all or part of the costs of a project, up to a maximum of $2000.

The grant(s) will be awarded at the upcoming MAC Annual Meeting in Staunton, VA. Applications are due August 15, 2017.

Employee will serve as a Librarian assigned to Library Service located at the North Texas Veterans Health Care System in Dallas, TX. Duties will include, but may not be limited to the following:

*   Recommends the extent of patient education programs and services to be offered by Library Service;

Research and Education Services Librarian, Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC

The MUSC Libraries seeks a self-motivated individual to fill the position of Research and Education Informationist. The Research and Education Informationist will provide education and research support services to teaching, clinical, and research faculty and health professions students. The Informationist will actively serve as liaison to the undergraduate programs in the College of Nursing and select programs in the College of Health Professions.
