A Credit Check on Your Balance

In her presentation Dr. Cather explains how the lifestyles we choose to lead have a huge impact on our physical, mental and emotional well-being. During the 1980's, after graduating from medical school, Dr. Cather spent six chaotic years filled with a husband, two children, two moves and two jobs before completing her residency in Family Medicine. That experience taught her the importance of striving for balance in your personal and professional life, in spite of the numerous demands on your time and energy. To achieve that balance in her own life, Dr. Cather describes how she tries to take time each day to do the things that she believes are essential - eating, sleeping, working, playing, praying and communicating. Attitude is important, too, and she reminds us that our perception of stress and how we respond to it is vital to our survival.
