Research and Education Librarian, Health Sciences Education Lead
The Health Sciences and Biomedical Libraries, part of the Geisel School of Medicine and the Dartmouth Library seeks an innovative, collaborative, and service-oriented librarian to join our team as a Research and Education Librarian, Health Sciences Education Lead.

Reporting to the Associate Director for Health Sciences and Biomedical Libraries, the Health Sciences Education Lead serves as a member of the public services team in the development, delivery, and assessment of educational offerings and research support services. The Health Sciences Education Lead guides the libraries’ efforts by investigating and anticipating the evolving needs of the UME, QBS and other health sciences interprofessional education programs at Geisel and developing and implementing new programs and services as appropriate. In this role, the Health Sciences Education Lead will also coordinate with the other Research and Education Librarians in the department to provide a continuum of education, research, and clinical support services.
Responsibilities include:
- Provides research and educational services to the UME, QBS, and other health sciences interprofessional education programs at Geisel.
- Collaborating with faculty and other colleagues, plans and creates a wide array of educational services in support of Geisel, DH, and Dartmouth communities; writes curriculum and provides educational programs in one-on-one and group settings, meeting the needs of Geisel users; develops, delivers and assesses instruction in both classroom and online environments.
- Creates online tutorials and develops online research guides to support faculty, staff, and student curricular and research activity.
- Provides research and reference consultation services addressing faculty, staff, student, and patient information needs. Conducts expert literature searches in support of education, research and clinical care.
- Participates in systematic and scoping review service, providing expert search services and other expertise as needed.

Research and Education Librarian, Foundational Research Lead

Reporting to the Associate Director for Health Sciences and Biomedical Libraries, the Foundational Research Lead serves as a member of the public services team in the development, delivery, and assessment of educational offerings and research support services. The Foundational Research Lead guides the libraries’ efforts in support of researchers in maintaining current awareness and navigating changes in publication, open science, and data management planning aligned with evolution of requirements from key agencies including the NIH and NSF. The role also provides an opportunity for involvement in conversations and planning around the institution’s research footprint and further enhancing the impact of Geisel and Dartmouth scholarship.
Responsibilities include:
- Plans and provides basic science research information services from the Health Sciences and Biomedical Libraries to the Geisel community, with particular responsibilities to the research departments and labs at Geisel and DH.
- Provides research data lifecycle support to faculty, students, and staff; collaborates with appropriate campus and library partners to identify and promote best practices and tools for research data management planning and data sharing through education and project support.
- Provides guidance to researchers in best practices for publication metrics, journal/funder requirements, open access and open science, and expert searching for grant and/or IRB submissions.
