Graphic and Narrative Medicine: A Panel Discussion on How Creative Storytelling Makes Us Better Practitioners

The Health Science Libraries at Rutgers University are pleased to host a panel discussion on graphic and narrative medicine, in conjunction with the Graphic Medicine: Ill-Conceived and Well Traveling Exhibit from the National Library of MedicineThe exhibit can be seen on display at the George F Smith Library in Newark. 

Narrative medicine is an intersection of creativity and medical practice. It utilizes storytelling to enhance the relationship between practitioner and patient while also encouraging self reflection to improve medical care. Graphic medicine is narrative medicine through the lens of visual art including cartoons, comics, and images. This panel will introduce the perspectives of 4 prestigious individuals in these fields.
