Do you know a MAC member who has shown leadership or initiative in the field of health sciences librarianship, or who has provided exceptional service to the Mid-Atlantic Chapter? The MAC/MLA Honors and Awards Committee would like to encourage you to nominate them for one of our four annual awards! Criteria for each award can be found by clicking on the respective link below:
- MAC Award for Professional Excellence by a Health Sciences Librarian
- MAC Award for Professional Excellence by a New Health Sciences Librarian
- MAC Award for Excellence by Health Sciences Library Staff
- Marguerite Abel Service Recognition Award
Winners will be presented with a cash award of $300. All awardees will be recognized at the 2026 MAC/MLA Annual Conference business meeting.
Submit applications using our streamlined form! Colleagues who submit a nomination will be entered in a drawing for a *free one-year MAC membership*.
Members may also self-nominate for any of the awards with a letter of support from a supervisor or colleague.
The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, September 11, 2026.
