The University of Vermont Libraries seeks an energetic and collaborative librarian as Director of Dana Medical Library to advance our vision. Serving students, faculty, and health professionals, Dana Medical Library is at the core of a dynamic academic health sciences environment that features innovative teaching and groundbreaking medical research. Dana Medical Library provides high quality medical and health sciences information and services that support the educational, research and patient care needs of the Larner College of Medicine, the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and the University of Vermont Medical Center. In fulfillment of the University’s land-grant mission, the Library also provides access to health information to the citizens of Vermont. Dana Medical Library is centrally located on the University of Vermont’s campus in beautiful Burlington. This position offers a unique balance of professional opportunities and a high quality of life.

 

The director leads all aspects of Dana Medical Library operations, including vision setting, developing policies, coordinating and planning for services, in collaboration with a team of seven faculty librarians and 11 staff. The Director reports to the Dean of Libraries and works collaboratively with other units within the Libraries: Collection Management Services, Special Collections, Information & Instruction Services, and Access and Technology Services. Our goal is to identify an individual who can embrace the role of manager with grace and enthusiasm while demonstrating the ability to listen and reflect.
