The National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Middle Atlantic Region (NNLM MAR) invites applications for health information outreach and programming projects.
The mission of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine is to advance the progress of medicine, improve public health by providing U.S. health professionals with equal access to biomedical information, and improve individuals’ access to information to enable them to make informed decisions about their health. Under a Cooperative Agreement with the National Library of Medicine (NLM), the University of Pittsburgh Health Sciences Library System serves as the Regional Medical Library for NNLM MAR.

Eligibility: Network member organizations in the Middle Atlantic Region (Delaware, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania) are eligible to apply. Membership is free and open to libraries of all kinds, community-based organizations, clinics, public health departments and other organizations that provide or distribute health information.
Awards to NNLM MAR member organizations help advance the goals of the NLM Strategic Plan and help us achieve two National Network Performance Measures:
- Engage Network members in carrying out the mission of NNLM.
- Maintain a robust outreach and education program reaching the region’s communities and responsive to their needs.
Available awards include:
Health Information Outreach Project: Education and outreach projects that improve access to biomedical and health information and increase the ability of the public and health professionals to use these resources.
- Amount: Up to $20,000
- Awards Available: Minimum of 6 awards
NNLM All of Us Community Engagement Award: Projects to support public libraries and organizations who develop programming for public libraries that involve information and education about the NIH All of Us Research program and health information literacy.
- Amount: Up to $50,000
- Awards Available: 3 awards up to $50,000; maximum of 6 awards of up to $20,000
Health Sciences Library Project: Projects that support health sciences librarians as conduits of information management, access, and delivery within their institution and/or outreach community.
- Amount: Up to $20,000
- Awards Available: Minimum of 4 awards
Professional Development Award: Awards to assist individuals working in MAR Network member organizations to enhance their ability to use NLM resources or keep current on topics related to NIH initiatives.
- Amount: Up to $2,500
- Awards Available: Minimum of 14 awards
