VISTA Technology Services, Inc. (VISTA) is currently seeking a part-time (20 hours/week) Library Assistant. This is a hybrid position reporting onsite 3 days a week at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) Library in Research Triangle Park, NC.
The selected candidate will be a fully integrated library team member and will be trained and involved in many library operations and gain valuable experience in a science library. The Library Assistant will be part of a highly professional, friendly, and results-oriented library team.
Duties:
- Filling article requests for NIEHS researchers and for outside libraries
- Shelving books and shifting collection as needed
- Copy cataloging and physical processing of new materials
- Mailing and receiving books
- Assisting with special projects such as processing donated materials
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Two years of work experience
- Library experience or coursework a plus
- Strong organization and time-management skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Proficiency using MS Office Suite
- Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance to Raleigh/Durham, NC
This position will be subject to a background investigation, drug screening, and government background check.
