2009 MAC Scholar – Andrea Hilliard

It is with great pleasure that the Membership and Recruitment Committee announces this year’s MAC Scholar, Andrea Hilliard. We’d like to share a little bit of information about Andrea with all of you so you can get to know her before the conference.
Andrea S. Hilliard is the Medical Librarian at MediCorp Health System in Fredericksburg, Virginia. MediCorp is a not-for-profit community healthcare corporation consisting of Mary Washington Hospital and the new Stafford Hospital Center. Andrea came to MediCorp in 2008 after relocating from Fort Worth, Texas where she worked for JPS Health Network.
Andrea’s other library experience includes working at the Hickam Air Force Base library in Honolulu, Hawaii where she was the library’s cataloger and performed twice-monthly preschool storytimes. Andrea’s first library position was with the Mansfield, Texas Public Library, and she has also been employed as an elementary school math tutor and in retail management with Macy’s.
Andrea received at Bachelor’s degree in History, with an English minor, from the University of Texas at Arlington and was awarded her Master of Library Science from Texas Woman’s University in Denton.
