2012 Marguerite Abel Service Recognition Award Winner–Ryan Harris

Ryan Harris embodies the idea of service to MAC and the Marguerite Abel Service Recognition Award.  First of all, Ryan’s hard work with MAC shows as he was nominated not only be colleagues at his library, HS/HSL, University of Maryland, Baltimore, but also by members of the executive board.  Ryan has been active with the MAC Membership Committee since 2008 and has been the chair of that committee for the last 2years. Through his work with that committee, Ryan has helped to coordinate the MAC Student Vision Program which started in 2010 and also led the effort in nominating that program for the MLA Majors Chapter Project of the Year. Finally, his work on the Quad Chapter meeting makes Ryan stand out for this award as he has been the chair of the Local Arrangement Committee and strove to coordinate arrangements with all four chapters.  The Honors and Awards Committee is happy to award Ryan Harris with the Marguerite Abel Service Recognition Award.
