Curator, Waring Historical Library – Charleston, SC

The Medical University of South Carolina Libraries in Charleston invites applications for the position of Curator, Waring Historical Library.

The MUSC Libraries seeks a creative, service-oriented, and forward-thinking individual to join our leadership team as the Curator, Waring Historical Library. The Waring Historical Library is the special collections and rare book library for the Medical University of South Carolina. Named for Joseph I. Waring, Jr., the first director of the Historical Library, the library houses books, journals, manuscript items and museum artifacts dealing with the history of the health sciences. Reporting to the Director of Libraries, the Curator, directs and manages the operations of the Waring Historical Library, including the University Archives, Digital Library, the Macaulay Museum of Dental History, and the Waring Library Society. The Curator will provide leadership and initiative to successfully implement the library’s mission to “collect, preserve, and promote the history of the health sciences in South Carolina.”
