Don’t Leave Awards on the Table – Nominate a Colleague!
Each year, MAC honors members who have made an impact in their libraries and the chapter with four awards. Below are the available awards and links to the criteria:
- MAC Award for Professional Excellence by a Health Sciences Librarian
- MAC Award for Professional Excellence by a New Health Sciences Librarian
- MAC Award for Outstanding Health Sciences Library Paraprofessional
- Marguerite Abel Service Recognition Award

Some years, the chapter can’t give out all of the awards due to a lack of nominations. Don’t let this be one of those years! Take a minute and fill out the quick and easy nomination form for a deserving colleague, staff member, or even yourself. As an extra incentive, nominators will be entered in a drawing for a free one-year MAC membership.
Winners will be presented with a plaque and a cash award of $250. All awardees will be recognized at the MAC/MLA Annual Conference in Baltimore, MD, October 19-21, 2025.
The due date for awards nominations is *July 29, 2025*.
