Chris will provide insights into portal brand strategies and she’ll use examples from 3 portal projects to illustrate her points, lessons learned, and how the final results were accomplished. Her examples of brand graphics, portal layouts, content scope, portal products, launch events, and other activities used to establish a portal brand, are taken from ongoing projects. If you’ve ever heard Chris speak at SLA you know she’s pragmatic and energetic, so be prepared for an enjoyable presentation with learning and “ah-ha” moments throughout the evening.

Our venue is the Sandy Spring Museum. Following Chris’ presentation, we will learn about the Museum and the history of the Sandy Spring area from Sharon Holt, Executive Director of the Museum.

Sandy Spring is the center of a unique Maryland community, a network of rural villages settled in the 1720’s initially by members of the Religious Society of Friends, known as Quakers. The Museum and its Architect, Miche Booz, received the Excellence in Design award for 1997 from the Potomac Valley Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
