Congratulations to the MAC Special Professional Development Grant winners for Fall 2011!

Mary Beth Papciak, Library Associate, West Penn-Forbes Regional Hospital
$400 for registration for the Systematic Review Workshop at the University of Pittsburgh on November 7-9, 2011. 

Meredith Solomon, Maryland-based health sciences librarian
$345 for support for MAC Annual Meeting registration, the MAC continuing education course “Patient and Caregiver Tools for Navigating the Healthcare System & Health Information Resources,” and limited travel expenses. 

Bethany McGowan, Louis Stokes Health Sciences Library, Howard University
$445 for support for MAC Annual Meeting registration and hotel/travel expenses

Anna Tatro, Health Sciences and Human Services Library, University of Maryland Baltimore        
$445 for support for MAC Annual Meeting registration, MAC CE course “Patient and Caregiver Tools for Navigating the Healthcare System & Health Information Resources,” and hotel/travel expenses.

Jana Lieberman, Policy Information Center Library, Dept of Health & Human Services, Washington, DC
$200 for support for MAC Annual Meeting registration.

These wonderful awardees were selected by the Special Professional Development Awards committee of Kristine Alpi (NC), Ruth Smith (VA) and Jaime Friel Blanck (MD). The winners will be sharing information about these education experiences through the MAC Messages Blog as they complete their courses/events.  This completes the year-long Special Professional Development Grant program.
