ILS seeks an experienced Information Specialist to provide support for the preparation of the National Toxicology Program’s (NTP) Report on Carcinogens (RoC) monographs and other documents. The Report on Carcinogens is a congressionally mandated, science-based public health report that identifies agents, substances, mixtures or exposures that pose a human health hazard.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Include (but are not limited to): Develop and execute search strategies in PubMed, Web of Science, and Scopus to search for human, animal, mechanistic, genetic toxicology, and ADME studies and for human exposure scenarios; Use a variety of software packages to manage citations and acquire .pdfs. This may include, among others, EndNote, DistillerSR, and Quosa; Carry out initial screening of literature by reviewing titles and abstracts using systematic review software; Prepare citations in various arrays for archiving, importing, and exporting; Work in a team environment with a professional and positive attitude. Other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Masters in Library Science or related field or equivalent education, with a minimum of 3 years experience performing systematic review searches on health-related topics. Bachelors degree in life sciences or public health or a minimum of 3 years working in a biomedical, life sciences setting. Extensive knowledge of biomedical terminology. Demonstrated experience using PubMed, and at least Web of Science or Scopus, preferably both. Demonstrated ability to create complex search strategies that maximize precision and recall as well as appropriately translating the syntax of the strategy for each database. Proven communication, time management and organization skills. Excellent writing and editing (copy editing) skills. Ability to work in a team environment, including managing review processes involving multiple participants at different locations. Experience using systematic review processes preferred. Experience using FileMaker Pro or other databases preferred.
