The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Strauss Health Sciences Library seeks resourceful, energetic, and innovative candidates to provide outstanding leadership for a senior level position as Head of Education & Research. The successful candidate leads a team of faculty and staff who develop and manage the library’s instructional programs, professional search service, liaison program, consultation services, and the frontline library services including virtual reference. The individual hired into this position will be required to provide in-person services (though we offer flexible work arrangements), will receive an annual professional development stipend that is available for all employees, and the opportunity for career mentorship in health sciences librarianship.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Train, supervise, and evaluate the work of departmental faculty and staff reports

Develop departmental strategic plans, create policies and procedures, set priorities and goals to meet the needs of primary users

Manage creation, assessment, and maintenance of departmental web content (e.g., Drupal, LibGuides) including tutorials, guides, and handouts

Seek collaborative outreach opportunities and advocacy for the department across campus

Lead collection and analysis of departmental statistics and assessment of services
SALARY
Assistant Professor: $90,000 – $97,000
Associate Professor: $97,000 – $107,000
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Assistant Professor:
Master’s degree or higher from an ALA accredited library school, or international equivalent
At least 5-10 years post-Masters experience in a professional librarian position or equivalent
Associate Professor:
Master’s degree or higher from an ALA accredited library school, or international equivalent
At least 11 or more years post-Masters experience in a professional librarian position or equivalent
