Chief, Public Services Division, Division of Library Operations, National Library of Medicine
The Chief of the Public Services Division is responsible for providing access to the world’s largest collection of biomedical literature and other resources. The division is responsible for onsite reference services and customer support for remote users; developing and maintaining NLM and NIH consumer health information resources, MedlinePlus and MedlinePlus Connect; working with NIH Institutes to deliver consumer health information; managing the content and technology behind the main NLM web sites including the content management system, search technology, statistical analyses, and usability; and preserving the NLM collection through digitization, space planning, collection repair, and offsite vault management. The division fulfills thousands of requests per year using an ILL management system and DOCLINE and provides researchers thousands of items from the closed stacks. The individual will serve on working groups within NLM and represent NLM to various professional and government organizations. The Division currently has 48 professional librarians, technical information specialists and library technical support personnel.

This position is listed as Supervisory Librarian GS-1410-15, with a salary range from $137,849 to $166,500 per year.
