The National Library of Medicine (NLM) welcomes applications for Deputy
Associate Director for Library Operations (LO) through the USAJobs online

The Deputy Associate Director assists the Associate Director in managing
Library Operations, a Division of the National Library of Medicine with
nearly 300 staff members. The Deputy Associate Director is responsible for
establishing and interpreting policies, assessing resource requirements,
and formulating long-range plans. This position also oversees the NLM
Associate Fellows program and the $80 million LO budget, and represents NLM
to various national and international organizations. Library Operations is
responsible for programs contributing to biomedical research and health
worldwide including selecting and indexing MEDLINE journals, providing
quality consumer health information through MedlinePlus, managing the
National Network of Libraries of Medicine, collecting and acquiring
published literature, cataloging modern and historic materials, maintaining
DOCLINE, delivering interlibrary loan, managing and delivering biomedical
vocabularies such as the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH), SNOMED and
RxNorm, and coordinating information in health services and health care

As a supervisory librarian position at the GS15 level, the position has a
salary range of $123,758-$155,500, and reports to the Associate Director
