Executive Director, Network of the National Library of Medicine, Region 1
The Health Sciences and Human Services Library (HSHSL) at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) invites applications for an Executive Director of the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM), Region 1. This is a full-time, grant funded, library faculty position in the Health Sciences and Human Services Library (HSHSL). This position is not eligible for permanent status.
As a member of the HSHSL and NNLM leadership team, the Executive Director will lead, develop and administer the regional engagement and training programs through each phase, from planning to evaluation. This position plays a central role in cultivating partnerships and fostering relationships across Region 1 and nationally to improve access to biomedical and health information for health professionals, librarians, and those that work with under-resourced and in medical underrepresented communities. The Executive Director will collaborate with the National Library of Medicine and NNLM Regional Medical Libraries, Offices, and Centers regularly. This role will support programs that aligns with NNLM initiatives and NLM priority areas. The successful candidate will work in a diverse team environment at the HSHSL and the NNLM. Responsibilities will evolve along with the NNLM and library environments, requiring a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
This position will be involved in library, professional and university service; professional development and scholarly activities that will lead professional growth; fostering an accessible, inclusive, welcoming, and safe environment; and supporting the values and mission of UMB and the NNLM.
