The Savitt Medical Library invites qualified applicants for the position of Integrated Services Librarian.

Reporting to the Library Director, this position encompasses a broad scope of activities with a primary focus on expanding the impact and curricular integration of the library’s instructional program; leveraging technology to support institutional aims; and managing outreach activities that improve access to health information among Nevada’s underserved communities. The ideal candidate will be flexible, forward-thinking, collaborative, and self-motivated, with excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Applicants should also possess a strong background in the use of information technologies, information management tools, and analytical and searching skills. Major responsibilities include: delivering a client-specific program of instruction through lectures, workshops, and online self-directed activities; developing curriculum-integrated instructional content; promoting use of EBM health information resources; designing initiatives to assess effectiveness of library programs; developing programs to extend outreach and build collaborations with underserved health care providers, community organizations and consumer groups; assisting the Library Director in supervision of library departmental operations; and selecting and organizing subject specific resources for the library website. Qualifications for the position are: an ALA accredited Master’s degree in Library/Information Science or its equivalent in the biomedical/clinical sciences; and at least 2 years of reference/research and education experience working in an academic health sciences or biomedical library or academically affiliated clinical environment.
