Position Summary Information
Basic Function | To enable students, faculty, and staff to access information-particularly nursing and allied health and consumer health-through a variety of means, including paper and electronic formats, both on site and from off campus, by providing current information access technologies, by developing and maintaining a comprehensive, current research collection, by participating in system and area resource sharing, and by assisting with the provision of a comprehensive program of library skills instruction and staff professional development. |

Minimum Qualifications | MLS from ALA accredited program; Minimum 3 years professional experience in progressively responsible library positions, including staff supervision, collection development; teaching experience;science reference |
Preferred Qualifications | Preferred Education/Experience Educational concentration/certificate in medical librarianship, or degree in a health sciences related field; eligibility for provisional Medical Library Association Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP) certification; experience teaching information literacy skills at the college level, budget tracking experience, academic library experience, community college experience; medical library experience |
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities | Competencies Self-motivated and directed, personable with excellent spoken and written communication skills, demonstrated technological and teaching competence, current knowledge of health sciences issues and trends and health sciences literature, team player, ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups inside and outside the College and organize and coordinate provision of services, record of integrity. Current working knowledge of the literature of nursing and allied health and evidenced based practice, familiarity with the grants process |
