Northern Virginia Community College is looking for an energetic, forward looking medical librarian who can take the lead in planning and coordination of library services to students and faculty in Nursing and Allied Health in a community college setting. Appointment is a full time 12 month faculty position.
Duties and required credentials are:
Lead librarian for a medical campus library. Responsible for coordination of library services to nursing and allied health students and staff. Works closely with dean to plan for and implement new services. Leads collection development in consultation with nursing and allied health programs. Oversees acquisition processes and collection management. Hires and evaluates support staff and provides staff training and supervision in collaboration with User Experience Librarian and integration of instructional and virtual services and technology support. Teaches research skills and helps staff combined circulation/ reference desk. Credentials include a Masters of Library/ Information Science from an accredited school, supervision and collection development experience, teaching experience, knowledge of health sciences literature and preferably eligibility for provisional AHIP certification..
