POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for all library operations and equipment and assists in the facilitation of quality patient care. Additional duties include: budgeting and evaluations.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:Masters in Library Science, maintains knowledge and skills related to medical information management.Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise. Completes population specific competency annually on populations served as identified in scope of care and service.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:PC and appropriate software and Internet knowledge, knowledge of library equipment and supplies. A solid understanding of departmental related terminology. Good communication skills, both oral and written as well as good interpersonal skills. Customer service oriented. Service specific skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:Library, rarely clinical setting. Exposure class II – no exposure to blood, body fluids, excretions or secretions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Medium work: lifting, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling.

WORK CONTACT GROUP:All services, employees, medical staff, patients, visitors, vendors, various regulatory and professional agencies.
