We have restructured Library Services at MVHS (St. Elizabeth Medical Center and Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare) with the retirement of the librarian at the St. Luke’s Campus. I am now Director, Library Services of both campuses. We have an opening for a medical librarian at the St. Luke’s Campus. If you know anyone who would like to apply, please encourage them to do so. Medical Research Information Professional
The Medical Librarian position is responsible for the day-to-day running and maintaining of library and information resources used by the physicians, administration, hospital personnel, and community at the St. Luke’s Medical Library and Faxton Campus Consumer Library. This position will provide reference, research, database searching, Interlibrary Loan, Assist with budget, collection development, library development and marketing, quality, I-Care, and other projects as assigned. Supervision of one part-time Library Technician at the Faxton Campus Consumer Library. This position reports administratively to the Director, Library Services.
Requirements:
– ALA accredited MLS (Master of Library Science)
– One year of professional experience in medical or health sciences library
– Experience using MEDLINE, CINAHL databases and other biomedical databases, and DOCLINE and OCLC Interlibrary Loan systems
– Knowledgeable in medical, nursing and pharmaceutical terminology
– Experience working with physicians, residents, students, health personnel, administration, and public
