Nursing & Health Sciences Librarian – Cleveland State University
Position Description
Provides leadership in marketing and coordinating a program of scholarly information management and retrieval for faculty and students in the School of Nursing and School of Health Sciences. Provides specialized outreach and research support, library instruction for assigned subject areas, develops and manages assigned collections and provides general reference and instruction as assigned. Contributes to library decision making; serves on teams to carry out library goals as specified in assignments. Keeps up-to-date in librarianship and information technology, applying current information technologies in carrying out assigned responsibilities. Engages in scholarly, professional, and service activities. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in library science from an ALA accredited program. Demonstrated professional knowledge of library research resources in the sciences. Proficiency with current information technology. Knowledge of library instructional module development. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; flexibility and ability to work collaboratively across a broad spectrum of the university.
Preferred Qualifications
Significant academic preparation/undergraduate coursework in health sciences, nursing, OT/PT, Speech & Hearing, physical, or life sciences OR professional experience in one of those fields. Professional experience in a health sciences library or equivalent organization.
