STEM Librarian-Duquesne University


The Gumberg Library at Duquesne University invites applications for a STEM Librarian position. This is a 12-month non-tenure track library faculty appointment available July 1, 2016. Starting salary is in the low to mid-$50s. As a member of the STEM-Health Sciences team, the STEM Librarian provides expert research consultation and support as liaison to assigned departments. Collaborates with colleagues and disciplinary faculty to develop, promote, and provide information literacy instruction and initiatives. Teaches multiple sections of interprofessional undergraduate information literacy courses; develops learning activities, assessments, and online learning tools. Participates in the development of the library’s collections and web presence. Evaluates and recommends new research tools. Supports Duquesne University’s mission, and meets library standards for fulfillment of professional responsibilities, scholarship, and service. Meets the criteria for the library faculty promotion process at the level of Librarian II within three years of appointment. Initial rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
