Job Title: Web Services Librarian

**This position is located at Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, Virginia**
Basic Function: Supports Carilion’s and Jefferson College of Health Science’s hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities. Provides effective and efficient services for medical students, researchers, undergraduate and graduate healthcare students, faculty and administration with regard to the Library’s website, web-based tools and technology used to access information.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Education: Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS) from an ALA-accredited institution or accredited graduate degree in other appropriate disciplines required.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years technological and instructional experience in a health sciences library or academic library preferred.
Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: None required.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Required, to read
experience with website development and administration; knowledge of markup or scripting languages like HTML/CSS, Javascript, Ajax, Bootstrap, and PHP; demonstrated experience working with Drupal or other major content management system; familiarity with current and emerging library technologies including integrated library systems, link resolvers, discovery services, and learning management systems; a high level of technical expertise regarding web technologies and their application in libraries; excellent communication and problem solving skills; ability to initiate, organize, set and follow through on priorities in a team environment.
Desired: Systems integration experience; experience using graphics software; experience with Google Analytics or similar web analytics software; awareness of emerging issues and trends in web metadata; experience designing and executing web usability studies; work experience in an academic library. Experience teaching information literacy skills in both a group setting and through one-on-one instruction.
