Lynne Turman retires

After more than 31 years, Lynne U. Turman has retired from VCU Libraries. She began her career at Richmond Memorial Hospital’s Medical and Nursing School Libraries before joining Tompkins-McCaw Library (TML) for the Health Sciences at VCU as a medical reference librarian. During her tenure, Lynne held several positions in education and outreach and most recently was Head of TML Collections.

Lynne was very active over the years in local, state and national organizations and served on advisory boards for two medical publishers. Her contributions to MAC included service on committees, task forces, and multiple Annual Meeting groups. But she considers her proudest Chapter accomplishment to be the role of instigator for MAC’s Pearl Girls beginning with the 1995 meeting in Richmond and hopes the tradition will continue even though she has retired.
