MAC/MLA 2022 Annual Meeting – Call for Submissions!
We are excited to begin accepting proposals for contributed papers, lightning talks, and posters for the MAC/MLA 2022 Annual Meeting in Richmond, VA on October 23– 25. The meeting’s theme is “Choose Your Adventure”. Are you ready to choose yours?
Please submit your paper, lightning talk, and poster abstracts, using the MAC 2022 Proposal Submission Form. All abstracts must be blinded, 300 words or less, use a structured abstract format, and describe either a research project or a program. Refer to MLA’s “Structured Abstracts” publication for guidelines: http://www.mlanet.org/page/structured-abstract
Unsure whether to submit your project as a paper, poster, or lightning talk? Consider your presentation style and the nature of the material you wish to present.
- Posters : Highly visual presentations
- Lightning Talks: Brief, focus on one main point, and are more verbally oriented
- Papers: Lengthier and verbally oriented.
You may also wish to consider the rules or guidelines of your institution for obtaining travel funding and your career goals. In past meetings, paper acceptance has been more competitive than poster or lightning talk acceptances.
Note the timeline!
The deadline to submit an abstract is September 12, 2022. All abstracts need to be blinded before submission (no identifying information about your institution or individuals). Only the Title, Objectives/Background and Methods/Description sections are required at the submission stage. Authors will be notified of acceptance September 24, 2022. Additional information (i.e. timing, poster size, technology, etc.) will be sent after the acceptance notification. At least one presenting author must register and attend the meeting.
You will receive an immediate confirmation upon submission. If accepted, your unblinded abstract, including the Results and/or Conclusions sections, are required by October 1, 2022.
In order to keep all meeting attendees as safe as possible, attendees must agree to the MAC2022 Health and Safety Standards (which includes being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and wearing a mask during all MAC/MLA ‘22 Annual Meeting events).
