Registration for the 2020 MAC Meeting is now open! Make plans to join your colleagues online for a fabulous meeting in October.  Our keynote speakers will be Ivan Oransky of Retraction Watch and Safiya Noble, author of Algorithms of Oppression – How Search Engines Reinforce Racism. There will also be papers, posters, exhibitors and networking opportunities. While the conference is virtual, the planning committee has chosen the Whova platform in order to maintain many of the extras of an in-person conference.  The conference will be closed captioned and accessible materials will be available on the conference platform in advance.

There are 4 separate registration events: MAC Member, Non-MAC Member, Student, and Exhibitor/Sponsor 

Do I need to login to register?
If you are a MAC member, please login with the email address and password that you previously set via Wild Apricot so the system can properly classify your registration, apply the appropriate rate, and connect your registration with the member record. If you have not logged in previously, you will need to reset your password. Those who are not MAC members DO NOT have to login to register.

How much does it cost?
The Annual Meeting Planning Committee has worked hard to ensure that MAC members and students may attend the virtual conference at no cost, thanks to the generosity of the Network of the National Library of Medicine MAR and SEA regions, the MAC Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and our exhibitors and sponsors. Note that registration is required for access to the conference platform. Non-MAC members may attend the meeting for $25 or opt to join MAC for the same fee, receive free registration and reap MAC membership benefits for the year!There will also be optional CE opportunities taking place October 12-14 for $20 per CE for any attendees. CE spots are limited. 

How are payments collected?
Credit card payments for registration are processed using the Pay Online option. The charge will appear on your credit card statement as a payment to MID-ATLANTIC MED LIBRAR. Confirmation and receipt emails are generated after completing the registration process.

If you want to pay by check, please use the Invoice me button and you will receive an invoice via email. Print the invoice and send it along with a check (payable to MAC/MLA) to  Layla Heimlich, MAC Treasurer, MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Health Sciences Library, Room 2A-43, 110 Irving Street NW, Washington, DC 20010.

What happens if I cancel?
You may “cancel” your registration at any time before you “confirm” it. If you don’t complete the process, you will get a pop up message that your registration is pending. At that point, you will have the option to cancel or login and complete the process.  If you want to cancel after you have confirmed, you will need to contact Beverly Murphy ( or Virginia Carden (, Registration Co-Chairs, or Lynn Eades, Membership Database Manager ( to be cleared from the system.
