MAC Retiree: Rosemary C. Panichella
Rosemary Panichella received her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Seton Hill College, Greensburg , PA in 1973 and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Library and Information Sciences in 1974 with a MLS. Her first professional position was as a medical librarian at the Monsour Medical Center for two years. She then accepted a position at the Latrobe Area Hospital where she remained until 1979.
While raising her family, Rosemary worked part-time at the Frick Hospital for the next 22 years. During that time she also did consultant work for a nursing home, Westmoreland Manor, as well as Latrobe Hospital and Monsour Medical Center. In 2003, she assumed the position of professional librarian at the Uniontown Hospital.
Rosemary is a member of AHIP at the senior level and is retiring from the profession with over 40 years of experience. Because she finds the work so rewarding, she hopes to continue to volunteer in the profession, possibly in an academic or public library setting.
