NNLM Region 1 Webinar: Climate Change and Health
Please join NNLM Region 1 for another Region One Insights webinar series presentation, Climate Change, Health and Equity Among Minority and Vulnerable Populations: A Public Health Approach to Environmental Justice
The environment plays a major role in our health and well-being. Health disparities exist when communities are exposed to the effects of climate change and environmental hazards and experience socioeconomic inequities. These factors increase the risk of illness and disease. Historically marginalized communities are impacted by these disparities at far greater rates than other communities. Therefore, public health approaches to address climate, health, and equity are warranted.
By the end of this webinar participants will be able to
Identify some of the principles of environmental justice, describe how the environment may play a role in health outcomes for communities of color and vulnerable populations and discuss the intersectionality between climate change, health, and equity.
Register here. The session will be recorded, so registrants will be notified when the recording is available.
Hope to see you there!
