Research Caucus Election – Call for Candidates
It’s almost MLA election time and the Research Caucus is looking for people to run for Chair Elect! The role would be Chair Elect in 2025-2026; Chair in 2026-2027, and Immediate Past Chair in 2027-2028.
The role of Chair-Elect involves attending the monthly leadership meetings, assisting with Caucus events and planning, and stepping in for the Chair if needed. Chair-Elect rolls into Chair the following year, where you will lead the leadership meetings, direct projects and education offerings for the year, and keep caucus moving forward. In the last year the Past-Chair position is when you attend the monthly Leadership meetings, advise the other caucus leaders, and help recruit a new Chair-Elect.
This is a great position for someone who’s excited about research and interested in being more involved in MLA. Please remember you cannot be in a concurrent leadership role for any other MLA Caucus, including chair or secretary, but you may run if you will be rolling off these positions in May 2025.
