Job Description: This individual will work collaboratively under the leadership of the Library Director in developing and coordinating the production of written documentation, online courses and publications addressing information literacy, info- mastery, and evidence based practice.
Will demonstrate a solid understanding of educational needs analysis, the application of learning theory, and evaluation methods for measuring learning outcomes.
Performs expert searching and provides consultative services. Will be responsible for the web content, data management systems, and media objects supporting consumer health information resources.
Demonstrates a collaborative perspective regarding other members of the care team including but not limited to clinical inpatient staff, outpatient clinics, and community based physician practices.
Minimum Requirements: A Master’s Degree in Library Science, Education, Instructional Design or relevant field is required.
Must have extensive knowledge of medical terminology, Medline, CINAHL and other healthcare databases.
Must have a minimum of three years’ experience in research, design, writing publications for information literacy/infomastery and expert literature searching.
Experience in design and development of technology based instructional materials.
Must have excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; with the ability to work independently, be flexible, and prioritize effectively.
Excellent organizational skills to organize and manage a variety of tasks and projects and work under pressure of time lines and multiple demands is required.
Must have the ability to supervise/direct library staff in absence of director.
Requires working at any of the library locations, i.e., 17th & Chew, Cedar Crest and Lehigh Valley Health Muhlenberg.
Preferred Qualifications: Academy of Health Information Professionals certification preferred. Five (5) years’ experience in all areas in a healthcare setting is preferred. Experience in expert searching for meta-analysis, systematic reviews, clinical practice guidelines and other research documents also preferred. Strong technical skills in software for website creation, course creation, databases, repository, image creation, learning management systems desired. Project management skills preferred.
