Key points during this brief include; capturing vulnerabilities, mitigation applied, knowing where your agency fits, the value of networking, communications and resource acquisition before and during disasters.
Speaker Bio: Bill Icenogle is the Director for Emergency Management at Woman’s Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He received his BA in Disaster and Emergency Management from the American Military University and is a retired military officer/veteran of 25 years. He is credentialed as a Louisiana Emergency Management – “Professional” through the Louisiana Emergency Preparedness Association (LEPA). Upon his retirement in 2005 from military active duty, he worked for the Governor’s Office for Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) for 5 years as the Section Chief for Regional Support, working with the states 64 Parish Emergency Managers during a variety of disasters. In 2011 he assumed the position of the state’s “Lead” as Emergency Support Function – 3 (Public Works and Engineering) at Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). He assumed his current position at Woman’s Hospital January 2017 and is responsible for Emergency Management, Security and Safety. He has considerable experience in multi-jurisdictional, multi-agency disaster preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery applications before and during a host of both large and small disaster events.
