We Still Need 5 MAC Buddy Volunteers!
We need 5 more volunteers to be MAC Buddies for our first-time meeting attendees, including our scholarship winners.
MAC Buddies is our mentoring program that pairs new librarians, library students, and other first-time attendees (mentees) with seasoned meeting attendees (Buddies) to help show the mentee the ropes and make the best use of their time in what is always a busy conference. This experience can help introduce the mentees to our community and encourage them to learn more about the health librarian profession.
If you enjoy meeting people and have experience attending MAC/MLA meetings, you will make an excellent MAC Buddy. And you can benefit from the experience; mentoring a colleague during the conference will expand your professional network and expose you to new perspectives. Most importantly, you have the opportunity to help someone navigate a new organization and profession.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity, everyone who replies by October 12th, will be assigned a mentee before the meeting. Once assigned, each pair will be responsible for setting up meeting times at MAC/MLA 2018, Making Waves, in Ocean City, MD.
