mHealth: Mobile Technologies to Improve Community Health
Time: Tuesday, June 18th at 11am CT / 10am MT
Instructor: Brian Leaf, NNLM SCR Community Engagement Coordinator To register: https://nnlm.gov/class/mhealth
Description: This class is intended to provide a fun and informative introduction to and update on emerging technologies and trends. Participants will be able to identify and analyze emerging technologies and their impact on healthcare settings. Consumer health devices are abound, but what impact or potential impact do they have on individual health behavior and the overall health of a community?
This class draws on the latest research and trends to give participants to a big picture look at mHealth, telemedicine, and related issues. Learn about how health systems are beginning to develop or incorporate new technologies for remote patient monitoring and improving clinical care. What laws and policies have been formed to govern these devices (however, this does not constitute legal advice)? This course will also take a close look at community health and the role of mHealth in surveillance and public health interventions.
This class is eligible for 1 hour of MLA Continuing Education credit. Make sure to register to receive login information on the day of the session!
