A Few Final Tips for the MLA Quad Chapter Meeting

We are looking forward to all of you arriving in Charm City this weekend for the MLA Quad Chapter Meeting. Here is some useful information before you come to Baltimore.
A Few Final Tips:
As of the today, the  predicted forecast starting this weekend has temperatures rising from the mid-60s on Friday and Saturday to the mid-70s starting on Sunday, so it should be quite comfortable while you are here. There is a chance of rain starting on Monday.
For those driving into town the Baltimore Marathon is taking place on Saturday October 13th.  Here is a link to road closures, although these will mostly be in the morning. http://www.thebaltimoremarathon.com/Community/road22d8.htm
The main entrance to the Tremont Plaza Hotel is located at 222 St. Paul, the main entrance to the Tremont Grand (where all meeting events will take place) is 225 North Charles Street
Baltimore. These buildings are connected. From the Tremont Plaza Hotel take the elevator to the 5th floor and exit to the right. This will take you to a walk way to the Tremont Grand.

Free Wi Fi will be available in the Marble Room of the Tremont Grand (1st Floor) and is also available in all guest rooms.
If staying at the Tremont Plaza Hotel your room will have  a microwave, toaster, refrigerator, sink, coffee maker, china, glass, and flatware. There is a grocery store, Fresh & Greens (222 N. Charles Street) located right across the street from the Tremont Grand so you can stock up on supplies while here and be able to keep your leftovers from the great meals you will be going to. You can also visit Urban Cellars for beer, wine, and spirits (222 N Charles St Unit B-2).
Sunday morning  you can  visit the Baltimore Farmer’s Market Before the meeting gets started. Want a free and easy way of getting around downtown Baltimore while visiting? Consider taking the Charm City Circulator. This is a free bus that gets you t to many major attractions in Baltimore, with several different routes going to different Baltimore neighborhoods. There is a southbound stop for the Purple Route located near the hotel entrance on St. Paul and a northbound stop located on Charles St. close to the Tremont Grand. You can download the Charm City Circulator App for your smartphone and it will provide you route maps as well as scheduled arrival times at stops.http://www.charmcitycirculator.com/
Registration:
Registration Friday Evening will take place from 5pm-7pm on the Second Floor of the Tremont Hotel. For the rest of the conference, registration will take place in the Roman Strada located in the Tremont Grand. To get to the Roman Strada and all other meeting spaces from the hotel,  please take the hotel elevators to the 5th floor and exit to the right.  Follow the wall of history to the 2nd floor of the Grand where you will find the entrance to the Roman Strada.  Registration will open at 7:00 AM on Saturday October 13th.
