Workshop Registration

The SLA Maryland Chapter and the FEDLINK Technology Working Group cordially invite you to this full-day Workshop which explores new roles for librarians in the analysis of research at their organizations.   The growing demand for bibliometric and research assessment analytics represents a significant change in how patrons find and use information.  These analytics seek to understand:  who produces research at those institutions; who they collaborate with; what their research is about; and what impact their research has had.  In response, many librarians at research institutions have begun offering research assessment services to their patrons.

Through a series of keynotes, panel presentations, and open discussions, the Workshop will: highlight librarians and information professionals already providing these services; gauge future needs for research assessment services; identify opportunities for expanding these services at other institutions; and discuss how to facilitate communications among professionals who are or will be providing research assessment services.

Librarianship is a constantly evolving profession.   Librarians and information professionals have responded to changes in the information landscape by adapting and expanding the range of services we provide to ensure that we remain relevant and valuable to our patrons.   Register today for this Workshop to learn more about bibliometric and research assessment analytics and how it is becoming an important skill set for the 21st century information workforce!

Workshop Registration$20, NOTE: Attendees will not be able to use their FEDLINK training funds for this Workshop.  Registration deadlines:  May 18 for Webinar & May 20 for on-site.  Lunch will be on your own.

The full agenda and confirmed speakers will be announced later this month.
