Calling for nominations for the Lucretia W. McClure Excellence in Education Award

MLA’s greatest assets are the collective wisdom of its members and the support received from friends and affiliates.  Many of our colleagues have made sustained and outstanding contributions to the profession and are deserving of recognition.

The Lucretia W. McClure Excellence in Education Award was established in 1998. The award is named after one of MLA’s most respected members, and honors outstanding practicing librarians or library educators in the field of health sciences librarianship and informatics, who demonstrate skills in one or more of the following areas: teaching, curriculum development, mentoring, research, or leadership in education at local, regional, or national levels.  Learn more about Lucretia McClure in MLA Oral Histories from 2015 and 1998.

Please consider nominating a librarian colleague or yourself for this prestigious award.  The nominee should demonstrate skill in teaching, curriculum development, mentoring, research, or leadership.  Nominations are due to MLA by November 1, 2019 by 11:59 pm.  Please visit the Lucretia W. McClure Excellence in Education Award section of MLANET for specific eligibility criteria, nomination requirements, and to access the online nomination form.  Previous applicants will be considered if re-nominated.

Please email Jill Tarabula, MLS, AHIP, Jury Chair, at jtarabula@cvph.org for additional information or questions.

Thank you,
