The North Carolina Biotechnology Center (NCBiotech) seeks a Director to join the Impact Research team.

Impact Research
The Impact Research team (IRT) sits within Business Intelligence & Analytics (BIA) and enables the success of NCBiotech staff while also providing evidence of the organization’s success. This Director will lead the IRT to develop services which measure and demonstrate both the Center’s impact in the life sciences ecosystem and the impact of the life sciences industry on North Carolina. Developing strong cross-functional partnerships with other Center teams will be key to identifying areas of need for IRT support. This position will advise the VP, BIA, on emerging issues and trends to be addressed in operational, budget, and personnel decisions.
This role will be based at the NCBiotech Center in Research Triangle Park, NC and on-site work is expected 50% of the time.
Responsibilities to include:
- Identifying, developing, optimizing, and providing oversight for essential information and data management services and systems for Center staff
- Developing and implementing strategies to improve the Center’s knowledge management capabilities, including digital asset management, application integrations, and document repositories
- Developing excellent working relationships with other units in the Center to break down information silos and address all user needs
- Providing strategic leadership for the development of dashboards, metrics, assessments, maps, and other tools to demonstrate the Center’s success
- Leading and supervising team of four high-performing professionals
- Providing budget data for the team to the VP, BIA, and participating in the budget process as needed
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Excellent project management capabilities; outcomes-driven with emphasis on accountability and project ownership
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize and manage time efficiently
- Excellent and effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to gather and convey facts to educate and influence others
- In-depth knowledge and experience with all things Microsoft Office

Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with visualization software like Tableau or Power BI
- Experience with mapping GIS data
- Familiarity with content management systems such as Drupal or WordPress
- Experience with a client-relationship management system (CRM) such as HubSpot
- Experience developing and integrating large data sets
- Experience designing and conducting surveys and assessments
Minimum Education and Experience
- A graduate degree in a relevant field, such as business analytics, data science, or library and information sciences.
- Minimum of five years’ experience with at least two years’ experience managing and supervising personnel.
OR
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Salary and Benefits
Minimum salary: $88,000
Salary commensurate with experience. Benefits offered include generous contribution to retirement (with no match required), 23 days of vacation available annually, in addition to 10 holidays and a floating holiday of your choosing. Generous sick, bereavement and volunteer leave are also provided. The Center has a commitment to continuous learning and development, with employees expected to spend 5% of their time in learning and development activities.
