The primary responsibilities will be related to the position of an Outreach and Instruction Librarian and the position of a Document Delivery Librarian.
While the salary is listed as hourly on the site, they are full time salaried positions.
After onboarding and training, we can offer you the opportunity to work 1 day week to work from home. The library is open and staffed on Saturdays. All library staff work 2 Saturdays within a 12 week period and receive a day off during the week they work a Saturday.
Outreach and Instruction Librarian
The primary responsibility for this position is providing outreach and instruction at the main campus library, working with another outreach and instruction librarian to meet the education and outreach needs of a large residency program (1800 residents), small medical school, and the rest of the clinical and research employees of the main campus and family health centers. In addition, you will be answering questions at the front desk, via library chat, and email. We are seeking candidates with experience in conducting literature searches in the biomedical databases. The library primarily uses PubMed, Ovid MEDLINE & CINAHL, but also has Scopus, Web of Science, and other biomedical databases. We prefer candidates with some experience or willingness to learn to conduct systematic review searches and be an active part of the systematic review library team. Library staff have the opportunity to participate in institutional, city, state, regional, and national library related associations and organizations.
Document Delivery Librarian
The primary responsibility for this position is document delivery and interlibrary loan for the main campus library, working with 2 library assistants using ILLiad and OCLC. Will act as a liaison to the library’s off site journal storage company on the management and timely delivery of print materials to Clinic caregivers as well as other hospitals. All library staff answer questions via LibChat and work shifts at the library’s front desk throughout the week which allows you opportunities to engage with library users providing information and literature searches as needed. We prefer candidates with some experience or willingness to learn how to conduct literature searches in the medical databases and eventually participate in conducting some systematic reviews. Library staff have the opportunity to participate in institutional, city, state, regional, and national library related associations and organizations.
