In the next few days, Darnall Medical Library, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, MD, will post a clinical librarian vacancy on USAJobs.gov. This position is a GS-12, with a starting salary of $76,378.

The clinical librarian is a member of Darnall Medical Library’s clinical service team and is tasked with providing evidence-based information services at the point of decision making. This librarian provides instruction, expert searching, in-depth research consultation and collaboration, and systematic review/meta-analysis support. Outreach services include participation in Pediatric and related ward rounds 4 days a week that last 3-4 hours a day, morning reports, case conferences, journals clubs, and other clinical forums. Education services include developing curriculum-based instruction on evidence-based practice in collaboration with Graduate Medical Education and other medical and nursing educational activities and include developing presentations on information access and management of resources. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the profession and to build a record of progressive scholarly and professional achievement.
