Job Posting: Health Information Literacy Coordinator, Creighton University, Omaha, NE
The National Network of Libraries of Medicine is made up of member libraries and information resource centers that provide health information services to health professionals and/or the general public. The Health Information Literacy Coordinator is responsible for carrying out the goals of the Creighton University/ NN/LM MCR subcontract, with a focus on promoting and providing training on National Library of Medicine resources, and outreach to underserved communities, underrepresented populations and the health care providers who serve them. This position reports to the University Librarian.
Minimum Qualifications
-ALA accredited Master’s Degree in Library Science required.
-3-5 years’ library experience.
-AHIP Certification preferred
-Project management experience
-Working knowledge of NLM Resources (e.g. PubMed, MedlinePlus, etc.)
-Interpersonal/human relations skills
-Verbal and written communication skills
-Organizational skills
-Skills in exercising discretion and good judgment
-Skills and abilities to interact with diverse groups of people
-Ability to operate personal computer with various software programs
-Ability to extract data from conversation and documents
-Must have a valid and current driver’s license with a clean driving record for the last 3 years and no major violations within the last 5 years as travel is required.
Additional Applicant Information
Preferred: 3 years of professional health sciences librarian experience; experience with adult education techniques and distance education delivery; experience working with collaboration software/applications and communication technologies; experience with budget management; and a sense of humor.
