Position Summary:
The Rutgers Biomedical Health Sciences Libraries seek an enthusiastic, creative, innovative and service-oriented librarian to serve as an Information & Education Librarian who will provide instruction, reference, and research services assistance for the Health Sciences Libraries. This is a full-time non-tenure track faculty position, of 1-year duration. The Information & Education Librarian will assist students, faculty, and other users with their information and research needs. This position is responsible for course-related and course-integrated library instruction, virtual reference service including Chat and Ask-a-Librarian (LibAnswers); development of web-based (LibGuides), research and instructional materials; consultation with faculty to support their research and course development; and will participate in supporting the growing array of research services provided by the libraries. All instruction training and teaching will be conducted remotely temporarily due to covid-19. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This non-tenure-track position is a member of the library unit serving Rutgers Biomedical & Health Sciences, and is a member of the Faculty, a team of librarians committed to providing quality public services to a diverse academic community. As part of the faculty, the selected candidate will provide instruction, research assistance and information services via multiple modalities (i.e., email, chat, phone etc.). This position may require working evenings and weekends. The successful candidates must demonstrate a commitment to continual professional development through librarianship and service.

An ALA-accredited MLS or its equivalent is required. Candidate will have demonstrated proficiency searching health sciences resources. Prefer at least 2 years’ experience providing reference services and/or instruction in an academic library setting.
