Position Summary Statement

With a high level of independent judgment and self-direction, establish dynamic, collaborative networks and relationships with the researchers, faculty, staff, and administration in Strong Memorial Hospital (SMH) Nursing Practice and in the School of Nursing.  Identify and support the information needs through the provision of novel services and tools.  Promote awareness of library services and resources, and developments in information management that can improve education, research, and patient care.  Develop and administer educational programs and instruct clientele, both formally and informally.

Our engagement-centered model embraces the concept that librarians, like all library staff, have  leadership responsibilities regardless of their position within Medical Center Libraries and Technologies.  Leadership on the part of librarians includes activities such as contributing to goals and strategic library directions through active participation on committees and task forces, locally, nationally, and internationally, and sharing expertise throughout the library in order to further library and University missions.
