Reporting to the Head of Research, Education and Outreach, the part-time reference librarian provides in-person and virtual reference services to Temple University Health Sciences Center faculty, staff and students, serves as a co-liaison to a health sciences school or department with consultation and instruction responsibilities and supports special projects when necessary. Supports promotional and communication-related initiatives. The librarian works up to 19 hours per week and will be expected to work on Saturday or Sunday as part of their regular schedule. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in library/information science from an A.L.A. accredited library program. Experience providing reference services in a university or college library or hospital library setting. Experience with Microsoft Office and G Suite.
Required Skills and Abilities:
*Must be detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to work both independently and with others in a team environment.
*Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
*Knowledge of PubMed, Web of Science, CINAHL and/or other health sciences databases.
Preferred:
*Experience providing reference service in an academic health sciences library.
*Experience using Alma (integrated library system).
*Experience providing online or in-person instruction sessions.
*Experience working with LibGuides.
