MAC 2020 Annual Meeting: Call for Proposals

The MAC Contributed Papers and Posters committees invite you to submit your proposals for the 2020 MAC MLA Annual Meeting on October 18 through October 20, 2020. A conference center has been reserved at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco in Pittsburgh, PA, however, we are also making preparations to hold the annual meeting virtually if necessary. The theme for this year’s meeting is “Building Bridges”, though your submission is not required to relate to the theme.

For paper, lightning talk, and poster abstracts, please submit via the MAC 2020 Proposal Submission Form. All abstracts must be 300 words maximum and should describe either a research project or a library program. A structured abstract format is required. See MLA’s Research Section for guidance on structured abstracts. Refer to the MLA’s “Papers, Posters, and Lightning Talks FAQs” page for guidelines on each type of presentation.

The deadline to submit an abstract is June 19, 2020. Authors will be notified of acceptance in late July. Additional information (i.e. time, location, or specialized instructions for presenting online, etc.) will be sent with the acceptance notification. Those presenting papers, lightning talks, or posters must register for the meeting. The accepted presenters will receive a discount on their registration fee.

You will receive an immediate confirmation receipt upon submission. All submissions will be blinded before review. Only Background and Methods sections are required at the submission stage. Completed Results and Conclusions sections are required if accepted before the annual meeting.

If you have questions about the submission process, please
