by a Health Sciences Librarian

MAC is excited to announce that Diana McDuffee is the winner of the MAC Award for Professional Excellence by a Health Sciences Librarian.

Diana has held elected and appointed leadership positions at the local, regional and national levels. She is a former MAC chair, served on the NNLM Southeastern Atlantic Region’s Advisory Committee and chaired its Outreach Subcommittee, is active in MLA in many capacities, and is a Distinguished Member of AHIP. She has even been an elected town alderman in Carrboro, NC! Diana has provided outreach leadership as head of the NC AHEC Information and Library Services Network for many years. She oversaw the development of the AHEC Digital Library that still serves as a national model, and incorporated a consortium pricing model that ensures online access to key clinical and educational resources for many hospitals in the state. Her colleagues at HSL have called Diana a consummate library professional, a valued colleague, and a visionary leader, bestowing on her their annual award of excellence in 2011.  Diana has amassed a strong record of scholarship, collaborating on nearly sixty papers, posters, articles and other presentations over the past two decades.  Congratulations, Diana!
