Congratulations to the MAC Special Professional Development Grant winners for Spring 2011!

Karen Liljequist, Medical Librarian at the The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh
$250 for an online digital copyright course through the Simmons School of Library and Information Science

Melissa Ratajeski, Health Sciences Library System, University of Pittsburgh
$240 for the MLA CE course “Rethinking Connections with Our Users: Incorporating Mobile Devices into Library Services”

M. Nichelle Midón, Medical Library & CME Coordinator, Carroll Hospital Center, Westminster, MD
$175 for the MLA online CE course “Electronic Collection Development for Health and Medicine E-Libraries.”

Jennifer McDaniel, Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences, Virginia Commonwealth University
$500 for registration and expenses for the 2011 International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions Congress.

These wonderful awardees were selected by the Special Professional Development Awards committee of Kristine Alpi (NC), Ruth Smith (VA) and Jaime Friel Blanck (MD). The winners will be sharing information about these education experiences through the MAC Messages Blog as they complete their courses/events.
